Coming January 20, 2026!
The first book in the Akawe biindaakoojigen Series (First You Offer Tobacco), which seeks to create a better understanding of Ojibwe seasonal harvest activities in the traditional territory of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior (Chippewa) Ojibwe. The series emphasizes traditional cultural teachings that should be followed for all harvest activities.

In Agoodoodaa: Let’s Snare a Rabbit, young Aanakwad and Awanikwe are visiting their grandparents and learn about waabooz (rabbits), using asemaa (tobacco) to give thanks, and a wintertime Ojibwe tradition. Written in Ojibwemowin and English, Agoodoodaa fosters language-learning in young and old alike, while connecting readers to Ojibwe harvest traditions in a multi-generational setting.
